If you haven’t tried it yet, quinoa is a super addition to your breakfast repertoire! Quinoa is gluten free, and rich in protein, fiber, iron, magnesium, lysine, manganese, and riboflavin. Loosely translated, that means you are building muscles, repairing tissues, improving metabolism, detoxing, supporting digestion and disease prevention, and promoting healthy cells. Go eat some quinoa!

HOW TO: Place 1/2 cup quinoa in fine mesh colander and rinse ( to remove a naturally occurring toxin) with water. Place quinoa, 1 cup cold water, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, drizzle of coconut oil in deep, microwaveable bowl. Cover and cook on high power 6-8 minutes, or until the seeds have “popped” open and softened. Allow to sit and to absorb all liquid. Fluff and top with unsweetened almond milk, small drizzle of maple syrup, banana slices, a few pecans, and cinnamon to taste.
