Warm Buckwheat “groats” with fresh blueberries and cinnamon! A favorite, ideal breakfast and perfect workout recovery fuel! 🎉🏃‍♀️❤️💪🏻👟

Buckwheat is considered an ancient grain, actually a seed, so it’s gluten free. Containing plant based protein, and 2 of your daily essential Amino Acids, it is also rich in fiber to satiate and to support digestion and healthy blood sugar levels.

Best part? Buckwheat contains amino acids lysine and arginine that are not found in most traditional, boxed cereals. Lysine assists with fat digestion, decreased cholesterol, collagen development and calcium absorption (think stronger joints, ligaments, tendons, and bones!). Meanwhile arginine supports kidney function and is also thought to improve blood flow to the heart.

But it gets better, Buckwheat contains antioxidants to fight free-radical damage and oxidative stress, so it also protects your DNA from cancer, inflammation, and disease/heart disease. How great is that? I can’t say the same for most sugar-laden cereals!

I love to substitute Buckwheat for rice, quinoa, or any other grain in stir fry, salads, and savory dishes at lunch or dinner! Buckwheat flour makes great pancakes too! But for today, think warm cereal!

With very few calories and fat, but a great source of complex carbs to modulate blood sugar levels, it’s time to rethink your bowl of oatmeal!



1) Place 1/4 cup Cream of Buckwheat Cereal in a mug.
2) Pour boiling water over Cereal (think Keurig!)
3) Pop in the microwave until Buckwheat is softened and water is absorbed
4) Top with berries and Cinnamon

**To rewarm or to make extra creamy, add unsweetened almond milk

**Alternatively, Buckwheat may be soaked overnight for breakfast.
