Don’t throw out your ALOE VERA PLANT! Why, you ask? Because your large intestine is the quarterback for your body, and it needs that Aloe Vera juice to release food residues, chemicals, toxins, and bacteria. This is important when you’re trying to get healthy, gain energy, and lose weight, because all of the aforementioned create ONE UNHEALTHY GUT!
WHO CARES, you say!
YOU SHOULD! An unhealthy gut stores fat, and the undigested toxins and chemicals, and food residue block the intestinal lining of your digestive tract and prevent nutrients from being absorbed properly! What’s more, this situation can lead to indigestion, colitis, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome. WHO KNEW!?!!
Happily, drinking aloe vera juice routinely can help preclude the above. I’ll bet you feel both a sense of shock and urgency to rid the “junk”…TODAY! Rest assured, I have a solution, just don’t throw out your ALOE VERA PLANT…You know the plant that propagates so quickly you feel compelled to get sunburned just to make good use of the odd plant (though I would always recommend wearing sunscreen!)?!?!? It’s the plant that grows so out of control that it ends up looking not so pretty to the point that you want to throw it out!…Don’t!
You have no time to extract the plant’s juice? No problem! And, if I’m made to confess, I too have no desire to slice open a plant, wrangle its juice, and concoct wonderful drinks. I may run marathons, but I’m ultimately lazy when push comes to shove.
You can purchase Aloe Vera juice at most grocers and health food stores, thought I recommend Purium’s Aloe Vera Concentrate because I know it’s not been treated with chemicals and is a quality product. It’s perfect for drinking daily with ice cold water and Purium’s Apothe Cherry, a concentrated cherry juice. Now there’s a double whammy…Aloe Vera for good gut health, and Cherry Juice for antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It really doesn’t get much better than that!
There are many Aloe Vera recipes out there, and as we head into Spring and Summer, this is one of my favs from the Green Prophet. Let’s drink to GOOD GUT HEALTH!
The most effective way to get the medical benefits is to drink the pure juice, so if you are game, this is the recipe for you:
1. You take a few leaves of aloe vera and cut them into pieces of a few centimetres long and put this in a pot to boil.
2. Let it boil for a few minutes, but make sure it doesn’t boil over.
3. Take it off the flame and let it cool for about an hour, sitting in the water.
4. Then take out the plant pieces and drink only the liquid.
2 tbsp Aloe vera pulp
1. Blend the apple and the cucumber
2. Add the lemon juice
3. Cut open an aloe vera leaf and scoop out 2 tbsp of the pulp and add it to the mixture
