In a 2014 Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) study entitled, “Defining Powerhouse Fruits and Vegetables: A Nutrient Density Approach,” researchers analyzed 47 foods to determine which ones were most nutrient dense. In other words, when you hear the word, “SUPERFOOD,” which of the “powerhouse fruits and vegetables (PFV),” are most strongly correlated as being nutrient dense and with reducing chronic disease?
